To deepen the strategic cooperation between the Automotive Engineering Research Institute and China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CATARC), on September 10, a delegation of four led by Haobin Jiang, Dean of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute, and Vice Dean Xing Xu, visited CATARC's Intelligent Steer-by-Wire Chassis Testing Center in Liyang for research and exchange. The delegation was warmly received by Jun Tang, Deputy Director of CATARC's Component and Material Evaluation Research Center, and Project Director Wenchang Yang, among other leaders.

At the beginning of the visit, the delegation toured several laboratories, including the Six-Degree-of-Freedom Driving Simulator Laboratory, the Steer-by-Wire Chassis Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Laboratory, and the Heavy-Duty Electric Drive System Laboratory. They gained an understanding of the existing research equipment and its operational status at CATARC's Intelligent Steer-by-Wire Chassis Testing Center.

Following the tour, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with the leadership of the Steer-by-Wire Chassis Testing Center on the basic situation of both parties, their technical research achievements, scientific research outcomes, industry-university-research collaboration results, and talent cultivation efforts. The two sides reached preliminary agreements on the joint development of intelligent steer-by-wire chassis, the co-establishment of laboratories, graduate student internships and employment, and collaboration between industry, academia, and research.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dean Haobin Jiang expressed his gratitude for CATARC's thoughtful and well-organized reception. He emphasized the hope that this visit would serve as a stepping stone for further collaboration, fostering closer ties and focusing on the industry's development needs. He also called for joint efforts in building industry laboratories and cultivating talent, with the aim of exploring new paradigms for university-industry cooperation.
