China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. Visits Automotive Engineering Research Institute for Research and Exchange

On September 14, 2024, a delegation of seven led by Jianmei Lei, Deputy General Manager of the Information Intelligence Division of China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (referred to as CATARC), visited the Automotive Engineering Research Institute for a research and exchange meeting. Xing Xu, Vice Dean of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute, attended the meeting along with faculty and graduate students from the Modern Vehicle Dynamics Research Center and the Intelligent Vehicle and Transportation Research Center, as well as Professor Mou Han and Dr. Jun Chen from the School of Computer Science and Engineering. The meeting was hosted by Vice Dean Xing Xu.

The heads and engineers from CATARC introduced the overall situation of the institute, provided an overview of the Information Intelligence Division, and elaborated on the technical capabilities and needs of teams working on AI technology, information security, the Special Inspection Center for component testing, and physical-chemical testing.

Vice Dean Xing Xu warmly welcomed the leadership and expert team from CATARC and introduced the Automotive Engineering Research Institute in terms of its development history, faculty, talent cultivation, academic platforms, research directions, and achievements. He highlighted the institute’s research in intelligent chassis, power transmission, vibration and noise, power batteries, and intelligent vehicles. Faculty from both the Automotive Engineering Research Institute and the School of Computer Science and Engineering presented their research capabilities and outcomes in areas such as information security, security control against network attacks, large models, intelligent vehicles in complex traffic environments, AI safety, and temperature prediction for electric drives.

Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding technical and talent needs for collaborative research.

Jianmei Lei, Deputy General Manager, expressed gratitude to the Automotive Engineering Research Institute for their warm reception and highly praised the research outcomes of both the institute and the School of Computer Science and Engineering. She expressed hope that this visit would lead to strategic cooperation in technical collaboration, project applications, talent development, and employment, and that both parties could establish a regular communication mechanism to continuously enhance and deepen comprehensive cooperation.

Before the meeting, the leadership and experts from CATARC also toured the campus and the laboratories of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute.
